Rihards Dubra (born 28 February 1964 in Riga) is a Latvian composer. Several of his works are religious influenced, including a Te Deum and an Alma Redemptoris Mater for soprano saxophone, choir, and organ. Musica Baltica publishes Dubra's works.
Rihards Dubra was commissioned by Louth Contemporary Music Society to write his first choral piece in English based on the words of 'Hail Holy Queen'. The world premiere took place in February 2008 in St.Patrick's Church, Dundalk.
A CD of Rihards Dubra's choral works has been released by Hyperion Records. The following works are included: 'Oculus non vidit', 'Ave Maria III', 'Miserere mei', 'Hail, Queen of Heaven', 'Duo Seraphim', 'Felix namque es …', 'Stetit Angelus', 'Gloria Patri', 'Missa de Spiritu Sancto', 'Ubi caritas', 'Ave Maria I'. The CD is called 'Hail Queen of Heaven' and is performed by The Royal Holloway Choir conducted by Rupert Gough (CDA67799).
